Meta reportedly halted its Smartwatch project

Meta has reportedly halted the development of Dual camera Watch. This is a Rival to Apple Watch. Meta has something extra in the future to synchronize with Meta’s Metaverse.

Meta halted Dual camera Watch project: Meta, the parent company of Facebook is one of the biggest companies in the world. This is also the pioneer in social Media platforms despite many foul controversies.

 Facebook is working on many projects to pace up with its competitors. Smart Watch is one of the segments where Meta wants to gain its footprints.

This watch was going to be competitor to Apple watch.

Meta’s long awaited Smartwatch, which has been stopped due to ambiguous reasons. However, it doesn’t mean that Meta is going to quit from Wearable device segments.

Meta has something extra in the future to synchronize with Meta’s Metaverse.

Meta’s dual camera watch, Meta Watch is now cancelled. Its features includes Dual camera design, with one under the Display and one on the opposite side facing the wearer’s wrist.

This feature was included for the users to easily pop off the watch from its strap, and click some photos for the Instagram and facebook. Due to  Dual cameras there is controversy regarding the Privacy Implications.

The biggest issue with Meta’s Dual camera smartwatch is its sole purpose to be used only as Facebook and Instagrams devices. This is totally opposite Apple watch or Wear OS Smartwatch which are more generic in practical.

Bloomberg reports, Meta’s Smartwatch project was codenamed MILAN. This has been canned due to various reasons which include the phenomenal feature that supposed  to the selling Point.

According to sources, Meta Watch’s second Camera proved to be disastrous for Meta’s smartwatch feature. All wearable devices should be ideal in practical life.

These devices are supposed to be able to utilize electromyography. This is all to translate nerve signals into actions. 

Apple Watch

This feature would make the meta smartwatch a relevant controller for the Metaverse, predominantly when using sticks, gloves an wands. The rear camera is said to the conflicting with the sensor. Hence the main goal of meta’s Smartwatch was not able to fulfilling for the future perspective.

Meta's decisions are not surprising to many ones. The company is still working on other wearable devices mainly wrist worn devices. It will mostly expected to play around with electromyography to allow the wearers to control their Metaverse incarnation easily
