The parent company of facebook, Meta is going to battle with Apple. In order to build metaverse this competition is going to be philosophical. Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said,” What direction the internet should go in”.

Meanwhile the regulator is conscious about Meta’s Virtual Empire (Metaverse).

In a recently held internal meeting, Mark Zuckerberg expressed his thoughts on the competition regarding Metaverse to Facebook Employees. The verge reported, citing a recording of Zuckerberg’s comments during an internal all hands meeting.

The Founder and CEO said that Meta will position itself as more vibrant and open but also a cheaper alternative to Apple’s hardware. The California based tech giant, Apple is going to unveil its maiden augmented reality headset by the end year 2022.

“This is a competition of philosophies and ideas, where they believe that by doing everything themselves and tightly integrating that they build a better consumer experience,” Zuckerberg said. “we believe that there is a lot to be done in specialization across different companies, and that will allow a much larger ecosystem to exist.”

This development comes aftermath as the US Federal Trade Commission has implemented a lawsuit to block Meta’s deal to acquire Supernatural which is virtual reality dedicated fitness app.

Meta is already one of the key players of virtual reality sector,” the regulator said in a statement and further said company’s virtual reality empire has top selling device, successful developers, a major app store and one of the best selling apps of all time.

Regulator said,

“The agency alleges that Meta and Zuckerberg are planning to expand Meta’s virtual reality empire with this attempt to illegally acquire a dedicated fitness app that proves the value of virtual reality to users.”

Zuckerberg said,” developing these platforms will unlock hundreds of billions of dollars, if not trillions over time, according to a transcript by Motley fool.
